365 Wrapping Up

209.365 - SFMOMA
Sleeping in the SF Museum Of Modern Art. My favorite 365 shot so far!

I am about a month and a half away from completing the 365 Project (taking a self portrait every single day for a year), and I couldn't be happier to see it come to an end. I am quickly losing interest in taking my own picture. I feel it has really changed the types of pictures I am taking, and I don't actually think I am happy with it. I did start the Year In Pictures project on Jan 1st this year too, which is similar to 365, except the subject can be anything I want it to be. I am much happier with the freedom of shooting anything I want to shoot. I guess I just get tired of taking a picture of my face or my hand holding something every day.

I have also been kicking some ass with my Instax Windows method. I am really happy with how they have been coming out. Erin thinks I should make a book out of them once I get enough. I agree, that would be so nice.

A Comeback Of Sorts

YIP035 - Morning Traffic ReportI have been thinking about posting here again. In a way I miss it, but I have also been much more interested in using Flickr to share my life with the world. I also think micro-blogs like Twitter and Plurk haven't helped with things to say here. Though, recently I have stopped using Plurk for various reasons. Twitter may be linear and simple, but it is far easier to filter what you can/want to see from others.

Maybe I am starting this up again because things are so crazy with my life right now. I could get laid off from my job next week (or not) due to the massive workforce reductions a lot of companies are going through right now. I'm hoping for the best though. I love my job and would hate to lose it.

Erin and I are also getting ready for our 3rd annual February trip to San Francisco. We are going for 3 days again and hope to see some stuff we didn't catch the last 2 times we were there. We also hope to catch up with a couple of friends while we are there. Oh, and lots of pictures of course. I am going to try going without my laptop this time. It is nice to have, but I also don't want to have to carry it around on my back the whole time. With an iPhone I should be ok when it comes to internet stuff. I should also be able to use the iPhone for my daily upload to Flickr. I have still successfully uploaded at least one photo to Flickr every day since April 2007, a pattern I don't want to break.

I would like to think that I would update here more if there were an iPhone app for updating a blogger blog, but in all honesty typing this much on a little iPhone keyboard would suck. I would like an easy way to send pictures from Flickr to here via the iPhone as well, but I don't think there is a solution for that yet either.

Anyway, we will see how this goes...

Single File

Single File

I took this photo back in the late summer one afternoon while Erin was running. I just finally finished the roll of film it was on and got it developed. I really love how it came out.

A Sound Garden

Sound Garden

Erin and I went to a place we had never been today. It is a sculpture called "A Sound Garden" and was built in 1982-1983. It is the source of Soundgarden's name. It was really cold, but the sounds this sculpture made were worth it.

Luscious Beaujolais Bubbles

Erin and I spent yet another New Year's Eve at home with each other. It was nice in a way, we played some Rock Band and then watched the fireworks. I shot this of my sparkling wine shortly before midnight.

30 Out Project Show

This is my current show. It was a really fun project in which I sent 30 of my photographs out to 30 artists to do what they wanted to and send back to me. I got 29 of them back!

New Shirt!

Last night was so good. Erin and I were invited by Narboo to go hang out with him, Starheadboy, 337, Eli Hur, and Eli's crew. We all sat around drawing and just chatting. It was really fun. Narboo had asked for a print of a picture I took of one of his stickers, so I gave that to him. He surprised me with a masonite piece of snoop wormy worm he did a few days ago. It is awesome!

Also, Starheadboy brought some new t-shirts he had made to give to us. I got this yellow one. Erin got a blue one with two white buffaloes on it. They are the best t-shirts!

Back to Blogger

I don't know what it was about MT, but for some reason I got really unmotivated to update this blog once I converted everything to it. So, for now I am back on Blogger. I will lose about 6 photo posts, but they are all still on Flickr, so whatever.

I also need to start refreshing Seattle Street Art a lot more often. Now that the weather is getting warmer (finally!) a lot more stuff is going up.

Onward!

Drama

I love this time of the year in Seattle. The dry, boring days of summer are gone and replaced with crazy weather systems and clouds.
